It was when I talked to the dealer/owners several years ago, but I haven’t seen it listed anywhere recently, and all of the email addresses I have for them bounce back “out of business.”
It was for sale when I first found it (which was more than 10 years ago), but I can’t find it again now, and the email addresses I have for the owner bounces back as out of service. Try googling the name of the painting plus the name of the painter plus “auction house” or “bid now,” or other auction terms like that. You may have better luck than I did, and let me know if you snag it, okay? I would love to know where it ends up. Thanks for commenting.
Does anyone know the history or this painting? Or anything about it at all? There is a second painting that goes along with it. I am curious about the origins of this. Please help!
Elvin, thanks for commenting. What do you mean by a second painting? Do you have a jpg of it? Can you send it to me? I will try to post it. I’ve found similar images of boys playing cards, not only as paintings, but even as a Capodimonte sculpture. I don’t think Buongiorno’s painting is the first, and I would love to get to the bottom of it. Use my email link at the bottom of the web pages, and let’s see if we can sort it out together!
