Researcher James J. Divita tipped me off that the Indiana Historical Society in Indianapolis has the archives of the Gioscio family, another Italian immigrant mural painting family who sub-contracted work to Buongiorno several times between 1900 and 1925.
An extremely helpful archivist-librarian, Betsy Caldwell, scrolled through the microfilm and found these records of what my guy was paid for a 1909 commission: $810.86.
The Indiana Historical Society’s Gioscio materials can be accessed here.
